Fees

The trading fee each creator picks, paid in SOL on every trade, and where it goes.

Every coin has a trading fee its creator picks at launch, from 0.25% to 2.5% (1% by default), and it can't change afterwards. Every trade, on the curve and in the pool, pays it on its SOL side. 90% stays with the coin's people; Stoke takes 10%.

While nobody has the coin staked, the stakers' share goes to the coin's liquidity instead, so it's never stranded.

Choosing a fee

A higher fee pays the creator, stakers and the coin's liquidity more on every trade, and costs traders more. A lower fee is cheaper to trade. The choice is shown on every coin's page and is fixed at launch, so traders always know what they're paying.

Always in SOL

Buys pay the fee from the SOL they spend, and sells pay it from the SOL they receive. After graduation the hook takes it the same way, through Uniswap v4-style return deltas: from the amount you specify when that's SOL, and from the other side otherwise. The pool's LP fee stays at 0. Everyone in the split is paid in SOL, never in the coin, so nothing in the split has to be sold.

The liquidity share

The coin's share is added as locked liquidity between the launch price and the graduation price, entirely on the SOL side: buy orders below the price. The more a coin trades, the more SOL sits under it, and dips run into it and get absorbed. The position belongs to the hook and can never be removed.

Before graduation the share accumulates. After graduation it's added whenever anyone runs the deepen crank, which happens automatically when the creator or a staker claims. It's only added while the price is above the graduation price (when the position is SOL-only). Otherwise it waits.

The creator's fee-free sells

The tokens a creator buys at launch (the dev buy) become their fee-free allowance: their sells pay no fee until they've sold that many tokens. A sell bigger than what's left pays the fee only on the part above it. Only the creator's wallet has an allowance, and later buys don't add to it. The dev buy itself pays the coin's normal fee.

The anti-snipe tax isn't a fee

Buys in a coin's first second also pay the anti-snipe tax. It isn't paid to anyone: it buys tokens from the curve, and those tokens are burned. See Launching.
